Re: “Berkeley's Unequal Punishment of Teachers

The Person named Jake Turney ,who called himself a veteran teacher, is most likely not a teacher. Most teachers know that is pure filth. Anybody can go on to it and use fowl language to say horrendous things about any teacher for any reason. If a teacher gives a well deserved bad grade, a parent or student can write what ever they want on there. Also, it should be noted, that the time when Mr. Crowell was missing a lot of school was during his BPAR time. That is pretty typical of people going through BPAR. When your being harassed , you don't tend to want to go to work. As a teacher who was close to the situation, I blame BPAR for Mr. Crowell deteriorating performance. He used to be a great teacher, but BPAR killed him and made him a shell of the person he once was. That is what it does to people. BPAR is barbaric and mean-spirited.

Re: “Berkeley's Unequal Punishment of Teachers

PAR or BPAR in all school district is politically motivated. They use it to target teachers that call principals out on particular activities. If PAR really had anything to do with getting rid of "Bad Teachers" I would be all for it. PAR doesn't do that. It is used as a tool for retaliation. End of story.

p.s. It should be noted that in San Francisco Unified Leland Yee (who spent eight years on the school board)was one of the original proponents of the PAR program. Do we really want any program that Leland Yee was a part of?
