Re: “Kamala Harris, For Which People?

She smiles too much. Do you know of any DA that smiles that much?

Re: “Overwhelmed

The mentally ill, as with other disenfranchised groups, are marginalized and devalued. Therefore, it is not surprising to read about the indifference reflected in the systemic dysfunction of an administration that relies on Draconian tactics to censor its first responders, the health care workers. The tip off of a corrupt management culture is its reliance on punitive retribution for those who seek change through challenge and confrontation of the status quo.

Is it any wonder the mentally ill are treated with servile contempt, corralled into what amounts to an encampment of human degradation when principle is usurped by bias and prejudice.

Re: “A Missed Opportunity

As usual, this is more rant than informative. Explaining "progressive policing" in depth, the origin and the ways it is put into practice through specific behaviors would have have been less self-indulgent and more educational. Yawn.

Re: “Oakland Sticks to Backward Thinking

According to the FBI Oakland now ranks right behind Detroit, in the number 2 position of most dangerous cities in America. It has steadily creeped up from 5th place to 4th place to 3rd place and now 2nd. How about a series of "in-depth" articles addressing this disgrace.

Re: “Cops Are Not 'Warriors'

Another article that has no social value and in fact contributes to the entrenched way of life that makes Oakland the #1 most dangerous city in California and in the top 5 nationally, year after year. It devalues a profession and a life, in this case police, giving he murderous one more excuse to justify their criminality. Yet one more ax to grind by Mr. Gammon.

Re: “Schaaf's Priorities Are Out of Whack

These pieces by Robert Gammon amount to censorship because he is using the written word to influence others to his way of thinking which amounts to obsessive slams against the establishment. Chip on the shoulder syndrome? I think there is a pattern here. Now we have protestors protesting the way they are allowed to protest. Oakland is a whiner's dumping ground.

Has he interviewed any of the innocent, law abiding business owners who lost thousands of dollars in property destruction and the domino effect that has had on their lives?

Re: “Schaaf Fails Her First Big Test

The failure was that she was shamed into taking action because the business owner who sustained thousands of dollars in damage made a sign naming her and the police chief as basically enablers to violence. The business owner had absolutely nothing to do with the social injustice the mob was protesting. Two wrongs don't make a right. The mob was as oppressive to those business owners, as violent, as disregarding of their property rights as the very element they were ranting about. Oakland is the laughing stock of the nation.
