Re: “Assembly Candidate Joel Young Plays Race Card, Lies Again

I'm confounded by how the EB Express, along with only a couple of very minor blogs -- and no other "media" -- seem obsessed with discrediting Mr. Young. This ongoing series of stories has been, at best, irresponsible journalism, and at worst, a deliberate attempt to misrepresent the facts in support of a hate-based political agenda. Maybe it's a little of both, I don't know you. What I do know is that implying that Mr. Young is a criminal without noting that no police officer, DA, or judge found any of these accusations credible, makes me think that you have personal interest in attacking him. The fact that one of the accusers -- upon whose claims no charges were filed -- is communications director for an elected official (thus almost certainly having a relationship with the EB Express) and was not investigated for possibly making making false allegations by the EB Express is telling. You have protected friends you listen to and enemies you attack, apparently without journalistic due diligence, given all the anonymously sourced claims and innuendo you feel is fit to print. I'd ask you to prove that this dichotomy isn't race-based, but it's clear proof is not a priority for you.

I'm supporting Joel Young because he's made the best case to me that he'll represent the interests of the District in Sacramento, which is what votes should be based on. I don't know if you view yourselves as journalists or political hitmen, but if it's the former, you should be ashamed. If it's the latter, then you're part of the problem.
