They key point is that the military style policing was created to brutalize the black community. A case in point: when black community organizers from the Uhuru Movement went to the "Open House" that Jordan held to deliver him a letter criticizing his policies, an organizer was arrested for no reason. Call the Oakland Police Dept, Chief of Police and Alameda County District Attorney demanding the immediate release of Rickey Clay on the grounds that he is a political prisoner, locked up only because of his beliefs – and NOT because he violated some law.
