Re: “Brookings Bombshell: America Needs High-Quality Marijuana Medications

doc benway, you're foaming at the mouth. Again. But don't worry that you might annoy me. I think my favorite part of the ongoing collapse of the absolute stupidity of the absolute prohibition of cannabis is getting to watch prohibitionists like yourself being marginalized to irrelevance.

41States, 1 Federal District, 2 US Territories, and about a dozen foreign countries including Israel, Italy, The Czech Republic, Columbia, Chile, Uruguay, The Netherlands, Mexico, Canada, and most recently Australia recognize at least limited medicinal utility of cannabis.

I want to make sure I understand what your bloviations mean. Aren't you saying that people who choose to enjoy or have a medicinal need for cannabis are amotivational, mentally defective idiots and congenitally dishonest people who only want to get high? So in order to get high we've scammed all of these jurisdictions into recognizing the valid medicinal utility of phytocannabinoid medicines which is actually nothing more than fiction? Do you have even a clue about just how prohibition oriented Australia is?

But don't worry that you might annoy me. I think my favorite part of the ongoing collapse of the absolute stupidity of the absolute prohibition of cannabis is getting to watch prohibitionists like yourself being marginalized to irrelevance.

Re: “Gavin Newsom Talks Marijuana Legalization, Youth Prevention in Oakland

The Denver Police still haven't been able to get a cannabis vendor to sell to one of their under aged undercover agents. Just in case you didn't know the Denver Police aren't in any way supportive of ending the absolute stupidity of the absolute prohibition of cannabis.

When do the prohibitionists get it through their fat head that assigning the duties of production, distribution and quality controls of this very lucrative market is beyond brain dead if their goal were truly to keep it out of the hands of the youngsters?

Q) Tell me Mr. Prohibitionist, how many prohibitionists does it take to screw in a light bulb?

A) None. If the light bulb refuses to comply with the law and light up when required, we’ll send in a jack booted thug with a nightstick to adjust its attitude. That'll fix it.

Re: “Oregon Medical Marijuana Battles Offer Lessons for California

Let's not forget that the only way that the Compassionate Use Act can be modified is by way of another citizen generated ballot initiative that earns a majority vote from the citizenry. That requires over 500,000 valid signatures the last time I checked. The Legislature can't even put it on the ballot for a vote. This makes California unique among the States with laws that protect medicinal cannabis patients from criminal liability.

I do wish that people would remember that just because someone can do something that it doesn't mean that they're going to be doing that. E.g. getting a doctor's rec for d4bilitating pain. Just because there are some pain patients who can't "prove" that they're in pain doesn't mean that they are lying. It's also absolutely untrue that most pain patients have only their word to prove their pain.

Re: “Disturbing 2014 Trend: Banning Medical Marijuana Grows

It's more disturbing and very unfortunate but the language of the Compassionate Use Act does not appear to guarantee patients the right to cultivate, merely that they can't be punished criminally. I'm hoping that I'm missing something but it sure does look like the counties are not violating the CUA as long as they keep their prohibition and penalties under civil law. Perhaps I should be looking at the Medical Marijuana Program Act and People v Kelly (2008)?

Re: “TSA Eases Up on Passengers Flying with Marijuana

[ring] [ring] Oakland Police, how may I direct your call?

TSA jack boot: "I work for the TSA at the airport and found a bag of merrywanna in a passenger's luggage.

Oakland police dispatcher: "..and you're calling us why? What the heck do you think we're going to do about it?"

TSA jack boot: "It's an illegal drug! I expect you to confiscate the weed And arrest the culprit!"

Oakland police dispatcher: "I'm sorry, we don't arrest people for cannabis in Oakland. Maybe you should call the DEA."

For crying out loud, in San Francisco people call the police on the DEA when the DEA confiscates their pot.

Re: “Camping with Marijuana? Watch Out for Park Rangers!: CalNORML

Don't forget about Native American's sovereign land. In Arizona they actually have some pieces of major Interstate and you don't even know that you've left the United States unless you're self informed.

Re: “San Francisco District Attorney Gascón: Medical Pot Sales Are Illegal

If you don't like the law get it changed. Then we'll simply ignore the law and continue to enforce the old one that we like. ~~ The police.
