Re: “Oakland Police Department Sees Itself as a Victim of Occupy

Seems that Frazier needs more cover up money to make the report palpable to the city leaders. We all know it's simply a CYA document. Anyone who has seen the MANY videos can clearly see the violence (and stupidity) comes mostly from the cop's side.

Sure, the kids look scary with their scarves, helmets and Anarchy symbols. It's simply because they come prepared for OPD SOP--using a hammer to squash a mosquito. And then trying to break the WILLS of those they arrest, by treating them like animals (or worse).

I truly hope the City of Oakland realizes the weight of the changes to procedures they make after Frazier's CYA report is released. As the Occupy crowd often shouts out to the police when they go toe-to-toe, heard live by 1000's around the globe online and later millions who watch the news, "The WHOLE world is watching".

Now the WHOLE world is waiting to see how the land of the FREE and home of the BRAVE deals with its police forces that trample on human rights so blatantly. It will affect the way dissenting citizens are treated by police EVERYWHERE, not just in the City of Oakland.

The whole world is watching, city officials. Hear that. From Oakland to New York City all the way to dissidents in China. The WHOLE WORLD is WATCHING.

Time to act like adults and take responsibility for bad cop behavior. You'll have no moral legitimacy to rule if you don't. Plus you'll be the living proof of what Occupy is all about. That our leaders are out of touch with a majority of people, and don't even care about us anymore.

Re: “OPD Used Violent Cops Against Occupy

To restore ANY faith in OPD, the current crop needs replaced--along with Judges and DA's. There is too much history to fix with a bandaid or by replacing a few "bad apples" in the bunch. It's a fraternity, acting like a gang, in a mess. New judges who don't care if the old SYSTEM falls are necessary. Propping up ANY of it at this point will not regain the trust of the citizens. New police need to work within communities, asking what they need to improve themselves. I doubt they want to live in a constant state of violence, but the current crop of cops make it necessary. Yin and Yang. Matthew L Kees, #OWS

Re: “A New Way to Punish Oakland Cops?

Wonder if Greenwald will be proven right once again--there are two legal systems in America. Some can't fall, 'cause the system crumbles.

Down with the SYSTEM!
