As outlined in Power of Now, the Ego loves a good conflict to define itself by.

Calling something a cult or other people Bad is what the Ego does. It makes the accuser Good by definition.

Yet what Landmark, CG and other "methods" do is to break down the power of the "my story/my wounds/my pain" and open up the creative possibilities of one's life. It also serves to open ourselves up to each other through better communication.

These methods, in the end, are breaking down the power of the Ego. And some people find that threatening at their level of development. That is simply the Tao at work...
