Re: “A New Lake Merritt Dog Park?

This is clearly an attempt at bait and switch. The opponents of the Lakeview site really have no desire for the stables site to go forward. For months, they've been complaining that Lakeview was too close to children. This new site is right next to Children's Fairyland. They've complained that Lakeview was too small for a dog park, but the stables site is smaller. They've complained that Lakeview was too expensive, but with accessibility issues this site is going to be way more expensive. They've been complaining that beautiful parkland will disappear forever, but the tree studded lakeside stables area is way more beautiful than the freeway-adjacent lawn. Why are all these issues that they've been bleating about suddenly non-issues over at the stables?
