Re: “The Clock is Ticking at Point Molate

Eric, thank you!!!! This article doesn't even mention the federal judge's orders. Richmond either uses it or loses it. If the author "researched this thoroughly" why isn't that mentioned??????

Re: “Stop, What's That Sound? Only the Echo in the Canyon

Where are the women artists? Joni Mitchell lived in Laurel Canyon, so did Carole King. Do you think this is a little male dominated???

Re: “Updated: Buffy Wicks Defeats Jovanka Beckles in AD 15

Paul McKinney you're calling Beckles a "popular incumbent"!?!!! You obviously don't know about Richmond, do you. Do you know that in 8 years on the Council Beckles NEVER authored ONE legislative measure. NOT ONE. She spent her time tying up the police department with the "space mind" episode that made national news. She is rude, unpredictable, a bully, and we Richmonders call her a "left wing Donald Trump". No way would we allow her to be promoted to the assembly so yes us Richmonders worked our butts off. I am proud of the Wicks campaign. Wicks is intelligent, a problem solver, and knows how to work with others and get things done. Jovanka has NONE of those qualities. It's great for the bay area and it is Fabulous for Richmond!

Re: “Landlords Take Aim Against Three Oakland Ballot Measures

Mom and pop landlords, like Nicki above, are going to flee as fast as they can. In other words sell their property to corporations who can deal with all the bullshit. They should probably sell and move to a town that doesn't punish property owners for being landlords. If there is a housing shortage, why are you making it so hard to provide housing?

Re: “Richmond Mayor and Sons Profiting from Cannabis Compliance Push

I have my issues with the Mayor but all in all I think he's done a good job. And with an RPA council he's got to deal with loonies as the council is nuts. The mayor has my vote. And I don't like the cannabis industry being in Richmond. I do think it's bad for our image. However this is a ridiculous hit piece and I don't believe the Mayor and either of his sons did anything unethical or illegal. EBE did the RPA pay you for writing this piece?

Re: “Best Do-Gooder Business Owner: Menbere "Menbe" Aklilu

Menbe is not a leftist hero. She was a solo restaurant owner who went on to develop a foundation. The foundation has supported her meals on Thanksgiving and mother's day where meals are free and services are provided. There are many of us volunteers who support these activities. We are non political. In fact, the RPA (Richmond Progressive Alliance) does not support Menbe's enterprises for various reasons. She worked her way up through poverty with nothing but hard work. We in Richmond will support her endeavors no matter where she goes.

Re: “Review: The White Elitism of BottleRock Napa Valley

Just the Napa Valley location alone tends to attract only white people. And not in a good way. I have numerous east bay friends of color who won't go up there since the racist feeling in the community is rather blatant. Oh, the exception is if you are Latino and you can work for them. Otherwise my African American friends, many musicians, simply don't want to go up there.
