Re: “Pork Dumplings Get Soupy at Xiang Yuen Xiao Long Bao

I tried this place recently and really enjoyed the XLB. The soup/gravy inside the pork XLB was so flavorful! Tried the spicy wonton which tasted a little weird because it had a peanut sauce poured over it. I was also pleased with their Chicken noodle dish, their eggplant, and fried chicken wings. I will definitely return. The XLB are addicting. Thanks for steering me to this gem.

Re: “Spinning Dough Tosses Thin-Crust Pizza Without Labels

Garlic infused oil brushed on the crust and homade sausage toppings sounds wonderful. Funny how the pricing is based on lunch/dinner versus Small/medium/large.

Re: “Wojia Hunan Cuisine Wows and Impresses

Just tried this place last night and it was fabulous! We asked for everything to be at medium heat which at times tested the upper limits of my level of tolerance but I loved every bite. I never had fried glutinous fish balls before and loved the texture taste and presentation. The restaurant is casual but has a nicer interior than your average Asian restaurant. They plate their dishes beautifully. Some show stoppers are the fish dishes. A combo of movies and shopping on Solano ending with a fantastic meal that wont break the bank, makes for a great urban weekend adventure.

Re: “At One Zo, Boba Is Made Before Your Eyes

I love when the boba is sesame flavored. If they use an abundance of fresh fruit for their drinks Im all in.

Re: “Yummy Grill Brings Afghan Cuisine to Fruitvale

Good to know I dont have to haul myself over the bridge to get Afghan food. All the dishes described sound delicious, but Im surprised there was no mention of the use of pumpkin. Nice to know if you arent excited about the ambience you can opt for takeout or delivery.

Re: “Oakland Artist Favianna Rodriguez Talks About Her Work on Ben & Jerry’s Pecan Resist

Thank goodness parent company Unilever is allowing B&J to push the political envelope. Cant imagine Nestle allowing it. Might need to make a special trip to JLS to support the brand, the activist artist and the sentiment.
