Re: “Can Businesses Afford to Stay Politically Neutral?

Businesses are public entities that communicate through a variety of means (products, advertisements, location, lighting, social media, customer service, and more). Those forms of communication, extrapolated over thousands of interactions and people, form a brand. The brand, in turn, informs consumer behavior. This is Business 101. If your customers don't like how the public entity speaks, it informs how they view the brand, which directly effects if they spend money. If they don't like your brand, they don't buy. Brand has always, and will always, encompass the state of our national conversation. Welcome to the United States economy.

How dudes like William have gone through (most likely) decades of life without even a *glancing* understanding of this basic premise of capitalism, and probably still hold and fat pension and a house, is unfathomable. As he's elected Animal House as the vehicle to explore the subject matter, I suggest to readers that William's words could most clearly be interpreted as "insight" from the sheep (the braying masses that enable the rise of Napoleon).
