haven't seen your film but one of my ex co workers had and mentioned that Bay Tech was in., i will look for this to view but I have to tell you i am not into bashing one's religious views no matter how bizarre they seem. i don't believe any religious organization should be operating schools in the USA, the authorizors of these schools should all be questioned on their lack of vetting skills and allowing anyone to open a school. charter schools were suppose to be opened by people who were attached to the communities who could make a difference, on flaw with with the teachers besides bad teaching skills was they lacked social structure understandings of American society. they always seemed interested in local events but only when it would benefit the schools. otherwise it was about their own cultural events rather than being a part of the community.

Re: “Former Principal Alleges Oakland's BayTech School Was Source of Funding for Gülen Movement

speaking with people i worked with over the weekend we are not surprised by all of this but feel saddened that it got to this point before OUSD stepped in. none of us bares bad feelings toward mr. hatipoglu its just a bummer for the students who we all really cared about.
about the gulen information the turkish teacher were careful about too much of that, but it was common knowledge they were a member of a secret society they were not comfortable speaking about. in turkey they had a fair amount of clout moving us in and out of sites, schools, businesses, they all seemed to be cut from the same cloth. nevertheless they treated us well.
how sad i was told by a an ex co worker that they cannot return to turkey, not much on international news but now this is hitting home and relates very much to news in our region. now it all starts to make sense the avoidance of some topics, they were proud of their heritage , their country and their leadership now it's all changed. for the students sake OUSD should find arrangements where to transfer their records. shouldn't be too difficult the school was about 250 when i was there can be absorbed up by area schools.

holy shish kebab did any of you read this 126 page financial mismanagement report,, https://www.slideshare.net/GulenCemaat/bay-area-technology-school-financial-mismanagement-gulen-school

there was no frank at the school except for a friend of theirs that had the same last name as erdogan, now that i remember this frank erdogan he left for Australia too, that is odd. he mentioned being a teacher in utah.

hey annette chill out drink some chamomile tea, the teachers would always serve tea which was fine by me but the other American teachers wanted coffee., they made coffee sometimes in these little cups. you mention a lot of names sounds like you have some voices in your head chill dude. no one has pressed charges yet, don't get so paranoid.

Re: “Former Principal Alleges Oakland's BayTech School Was Source of Funding for Gülen Movement

we never had a frank esekoglu that worked at the school but we had a frank erdogan that came by and visited. i remember cause he had same last name as PM erdogan. at that time the staff really admired erdogan, then some sort of power play happened and now I understand from the news they hate him. he is shutting them down is that the reason i don't know i only read about this pastor exchange and the entire stories all sound fake and made up by the cia. FWIW i don't think USA has been treating turkey with respect it's an important geopolitical land for america. to the person above jim mentioning about RICO organized crime laws, from what my ex colleagues are sending me it' appears that is what the US government and fbi is looking into is their alleged organized crimes, they do own a lot of the businesses if I recall, lots of food places, good stuff, especially a noodle dish they made called monte python or something like that. they always tried to have local guests stop by the school but seemed to be frustrated when local TV news or elected officials would show any interest.
