Re: “Jane Austen-in-Singapore 'Crazy Rich Asians' Fizzles

This is an OK movie, but doesn't justify the hype that preceded it. But, I am an all-Chinese male, and I find it insulting that director Jon Chu (yes, Chinese) couldn't cast an all-Chinese male for a character who is supposed to be all-Chinese. Henry Golding is a good-looking guy, has a beautiful voice and does a good job of acting, but he doesn't look Asian. Some have said that, to Caucasians, he looks Asian, but to an Asian, he looks Caucasian. After all the publicity about doing a world-wide search to cast this movie, the selection of Golding is disappointing. The world has 1.4 billion Chinese; about half of them are male, and they can't find ONE of them to fill this role??? It's an insult.
