The City of Berkeley just updated it's Cultural Plan with over a year's worth of work and input from the community. It has concrete action plans for short, medium, and long-term goals to be addressed by not only by city departments, but by art organizations, the school district, and the Art Commission. New to Berkeley! - The Bay Area Book Festival, June 6 & 7. A free book festival and street fair with 200 local, national and international authors, from Nobel laureates to genre writers, as well as storytellers, a Children’s Arena in Civic Center Park, a Teen Stage, & a Cooking Stage. Incredible book-art installations: "Lacuna "by FLUX (the art collective that does the Man and the Temple at Burning Man); "A Flock of Books" by Yael Braha; "Astrobotanicals" by Stan Clark create the Digital Dome; and the interactive Chalk It Up for Books! on Sunday.
