Calendar Editor
Do you have an eye for detail and an interest in the vast arts and cultural happenings in the East Bay? Telegraph Media — which includes the East Bay Express, Oakland and Alameda magazines, East Bay Monthly, and Bay Woof — has an immediate vacancy for the position of calendar editor, the person in charge of compiling the East Bay’s most comprehensive weekly event listings. The calendar editor will compile listings for the East Bay Express, Oakland and Alameda magazines, and the East Bay Monthly by combing through press releases, approving user-submitted events, and reaching out to arts and culture venues across the East Bay. Prior experience with data entry, knowledge of AP style, and a passion for the diversity of arts and culture offerings in the East Bay preferred. This is a part-time, 20-hours-per-week position without benefits, working out of our Jack London area office. Ideally, this person will also be interested in writing about arts and culture for the publications, in which case freelance rates will apply. This position may expand into a full-time position in the future. Send a cover letter and your resume to Managing Editor Janelle Bitker at
