Re: “The Big Sick: When Kumail Met Emily

I thought this picture was not well written and the plot was thin when lots of nuance could have been added. And I thought the actor that played Emily was so bland that she veered into being invisible. Other than being a blandly pretty blonde, she brought nothing else to the role. I don't see a big future in movies for either of them. Comedy acts are different from film acting, eh?

Re: “Who Will Be There When You Call 911? Our Writer Plunges Into the World of For-Profit Ambulances.

Reading this article made me feel physically ill - happily, the feeling dissipated and I didn't need to call an ambulance.

It is remarkable that a 'public/private' partnership would be considered an acceptable or preferable solution for the problem: people who become ill and need transportation to a hospital. Quite simply, this should be a service provided either on a city or county level, by well paid city or county employees responsible to the taxpayers and not to their employer's bottom line. Any other solution is flushing money down the drain and selling the public - and public health - down the river.

Re: “Oakland Police Chief Doubles-Down on Promoting the Cops Who Covered-Up the Celeste Guap Case

"earn the community's trust in its police department" - This from someone who has spent 23 years spurring animosity to Oakland police, while not caring a whit for the victims of robberies, assaults, and burglaries. http://www.sfgate.com/bayarea/article/Chil…

Re: “Savage Love: Mail Bag

I sincerely didnt like the idea, but this is my way of saying thank you to the Quora user that recommended a hacker ( QUICKSOLUTION040@GMAIL.COM )

I hired him for a very private and difficult matter of helping me hack a my spouses phone and social networks and some other personal stuffs and he far exceeded my expectations. which Jeremie, helped me get the info(whatsapp, facebook, text messages, call logs etc) faster and cheaper than I had imagined. The first time we spoke, we had a very long phone consultation in he gave me all my options that he could think of to resolve my case, and he even recommended I try other options before hiring him, which shows that he is honest. I decided to hire him and I am glad I did. he is a fantastic investigator and a great person. If you need a professional, reliable and efficient hacker, then you should contact this guy ; QUICKSOLUTION040@GMAIL.COM

Re: “Oakland Police Chief Doubles-Down on Promoting the Cops Who Covered-Up the Celeste Guap Case

Punish the beat cops but promote the supervising brass. Business as usual at OPD.

Re: “Oakland Police Chief Doubles-Down on Promoting the Cops Who Covered-Up the Celeste Guap Case

The citizens of Oakland deserve better. Promoting higher ups involved in coverups tells me that the police department, even with a new chief, has not changed and has no intention of changing. The coup de grace is Coleman investigating police misconduct. OPD, Mayor Schafer and City Administrator Landreth don't seem to mind maintaining the status quo. What a shame!

Re: “Arson in Oakland: Is Someone Torching New Developments?

The phrase "God gave Noah the rainbow sign, no more water the fire next time" was the source of the Baldwin quote above. It should be understood that the fire referred to in this passage was divine in nature and potential origin. The idea of humans invoking and exacting such a level of biblical judgement is cause only for concern given the arrogance and limitation endemic to mankind.

Re: “Arson in Oakland: Is Someone Torching New Developments?

Fulani. perhaps you are forgetting that fires can and frequently do KILL people. No matter where you stand on gentrification, the notion of burning down constructions sites/buildings by way of protest is absurd. Constructing a rationale for arson like this is in my view irresponsible. It could only serve to encourage such criminal activity.

Re: “Who Will Be There When You Call 911? Our Writer Plunges Into the World of For-Profit Ambulances.

It's about time the media shined a light on this serious public health issue. You would think in a progressive county like ours this could not happen.
I've always had a problem with "For Profit" companies providing emergency services. It doesn't work to the benefit of the taxpayers.

If this is not the end of Schaaf and Kirkpatrick, then Oakland deserves exactly what it will continue to get; a deepening cesspool of lies & corruption.

Re: “Yuzu Ramen & Broffee Goes Deep To the Bone

$17 for a bowl of noodles? Arsonists need to stop burning down those new condo developments so these ramen places can have customers.

"Lot's of hate disguised as help comes out of these orgs." You think you can elaborate on this? Show some proof? No. Just another hater of non-profit organizations that are for people in need.
If I worked for one I would have said so.

OMG...what a pit of vipers. Schaaf needs to be removed from office as does the Chief of OPD.
