I have lived in Oakland for 30 years. I have been the subject of four crimes, all of them minor. None of the criminals were undocumented immigrants; all of them were born in the US. Don't tell me that ICE is protecting me.

Checking ID is one thing; making license plate data available to any registered govt agency, including ones that police us against our will, is another. We are a nation founded on securing citizens against unwarranted police and govt actions.
