Re: “Monday’s Briefing: California May Become Sanctuary State for Weed; 40% of Bay Area Adults Need a Roommate to Afford Rent

In regards to your first point, I thought California was already like this? I remember when there was a 'rogue cop' working with the feds to help shutdown state approved dispensaries back in the day. I thought we--well, not we cause I don't live in Cali anymore but that's besides the point--already had legislation in place, perhaps not on a state level, maybe just a city level, to prevent our local law enforcement from working against the will of the California residents. I guess not? That's a surprise.

Also, about Trump watching TV and tweeting all day - WHAT IS THAT?! Does this guy not realize he's the PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES? That's a pretty big job (I'm underselling it), maybe one that he should focus on. After all, he is effectively governing ALL OF US. Apparently he thinks it's more important to get his cable television time in and send some ridiculous tweets publicly bashing anyone that criticizes him with schoolyard name-calling. Funny how his wife is trying to push some sort of anti online bullying agenda while her husband is perhaps the biggest internet bully of them all lol.

Re: “Legion of Bloom Terrapen Vaporizer Hits Smooth And Looks Slick.

Jonathan: In regards to your comment, I can't help but disagree with you about it being a lazy plug because I never heard of the Terrapen til I read this so I'm definitely glad they tossed this up on the site cause otherwise I'd be totally unaware of its existence. Although, on the lazy side, it'd be nice to have some more info on it, but I'm guessing I can probably find some more info on the manufacturer's site and probably on Reddit's vape section where people are constantly sharing their opinions of new vapes and whatnot. I suggest taking a look at Reddit if you want to know more about it cause I'm guessing you'll find some reviews from people that have bought it.

Also, the zen cartridge maybe being a way of your editors telling you to think before you write - that's pretty funny haha. Would be nice to know more about their pre-filled cartridges and what exactly is in them. Do a followup on this vape if you can!

Re: “The Year of the Vape

Not everyone has access to extracts you say but if you live in the Bay Area and you don't, something is seriously wrong with you because the Bay is flush with extracts lol, especially now that Harborside doesn't even require a med card anymore, just walk in and get you want. Anyways, forget that G Pen you mentioned, there are way better vapes for extracts, even better pen vapes. Personally, I like the Hypnos Zero by Linx and the Ghost by Dr. Dabber. What's cool about the Hypnos Zero is that it doesn't even use a coil like most of the other vape pens. Instead, it uses a ceramic plate. Super nice design but it does get a little clogged at times because of how close the plate is to the holes that the vapor travels through. I've reviewed both of them on my website at https://vaporizershark.com for anyone that cares to learn more about them. Also, the Santa Cruz Shredder grinders are bomb. Hella legit. Space Case is a good alternative. Both are expensive, but better safe than sorry cause you don't want to buy some cheap aluminum grinder that's basically a knockoff that could leave behind metal shavings, you want a hi-quality one if you're going to go with an aluminum one instead of titanium and that's exactly what the Santa Cruz and Space Case grinders are. But as a Bay cat, I gotta give up for the Santa Cruz Shredder cause you gotta support your local businesses!

Re: “Sessions' Betrayal

Why would anybody be surprised by any delusional, out of touch, take us back a half century thing a guy named Jefferson Beauregard Sessions would do? He is not only a red neck racist, he is mentally still in an era that produced public health crap like "reefer madness". This guy thinks marijuana is a gateway drug, when every intelligent aware person knows that alcohol or for Sessions "moonshine", is the biggest gateway drug ever created. This guy is a joke, an embarrassment and hopefully old news when convicted of lying to Congress about Trump and his Russian friends. I am thankful every day that I live in California where we have government, both state and local, who seem to be doing everything they can to insulate us from Trump and the clown car full of idiots he brought to Washington.

Re: “Wednesday’s Briefing: Insurance Policies Canceled in Oakland Hills; California Looks at Tax Changes in Response to Trump Overhaul

I have tremendous experience as an insurance agent placing coverage for homeowners that are located in fire risk areas and this is one of my specialties.

I am the founder of the CA Fire Insurance Team at https://www.getfireinsurance.com and I am interested in getting my agency in front of these homeowners that need help getting coverage at affordable prices.

I noticed in your article you mentioned some of the areas that are considered very high fire risk by many insurance companies.

Im hoping by reaching out to you I can also find out more about the areas specifically that are being affected by non-renewals, cancellations or denials of coverage so that they know Im here to help.

Feel free to contact me or my agency at info@trailheadins.com.

Re: “Oakland Police Chief's Troubles Resemble Those of Her Past

Libby Schaaf was obviously embarrassed, angry and humiliated when she had to face the cameras about the corrupt male police officers under her authority. So she had a knee jerk, singular & gender-specific resolution hiring a female chief as a panacea. Very short sighted. Unfortunately, Schaaf inherited a free-for-all OPD hiring process allowing misfits to fill the ranks of a depleted department. Kirkpatrick has job security as long as Schaaf remains mayor. Schaaf isn't about to admit she made a mistake to fix a mistake.

Re: “Thursday’s Briefing: BART Cop Kills Man in West Oakland; 4.4 Quake Shakes Berkeley and Oakland

Police (Oakland) say they found a gun where a cop (BART) killed a man, and it's NOT the Bart police shooter's gun.

Can we all spell "throwdown??"

Re: “Oakland's Problem with Rogue Dispensaries

I loved First Hemp Bank. And there should be more than just six permits. That's why there's still drug dealers in the street. City politicians don't know how to handle their drugs.

Re: “Davis in Desperate Gambler Mode

I think it's high time for the City of Oakland and Alameda County to tell the Raiders and Mark Davis to kick rocks!
IMMEDIATELY suede all property in Alameda at their HQ and hold it in lieu of repayment for the outstanding debt on Mt. Davis and any other monies owed. STOP playing the victim and start acting like a city with some pride.
Tell him if he's truly moving, then do it now and get it over with. If they don't want us, we don't want them!

Re: “What’s Up With Retail?

The holdout power of land is powerful indeed. The reality is, all taxes come out of rents which ultimately settle in land prices. Taxing the unimproved value of land encourages land's highest, best usage and ensure no land is idly wasted, as so often happens today when landlords attempt to hold out longer than business owners, or push them outward from urban cores into lower cost areas, contributing to urban sprawl and costly expansions of public infrastructure.

Re: “Terror or Entrapment?

The sad truth is that the FBI creates more US terrorists than ISIS does. They can't catch the real ones, so they find poor, dumb, mentally unstable young men and entrap them.

Re: “A New Place to Gamble?

How much money do u have to give the police or the city to turn their heads the other way when they drive down 105 th Ave and east 14 th streets. And when the casino in San Pablo pays the mayor of Oakland to shut them down how much does the mayor get and how long before the city starts ignoring the cafas agian and when they do is the payoff the same as before or does it go up like inflation . Oh I'm sorry did I front u off , I'm thinking that's the case cause here we are 2018 and there still ripping people off from 10 am till 4 am 7 days a week over at 105 and east 14 street. Congrats to all the people who are exploiting the people in the surrounding neighbor hoods for as much money as they can get and rushing over there to lose 1000 s a day . Don't mind the fact that kids go hungry at nite as a parent rushes off to the web instead of going to the food Mart for dinner . Indispikable business . Bet you won't publish this one. Yours truly Ronnie Deane now what

Glad I'm not the only one ready to dump the Traitors. I'll be out there until they leave though. I can only hope they win a ring and Davis gets booed off the stage at the parade.

Re: “Wholesale Pot Prices Plummet

Yuba Lover: Your "craft growers", plus the dispensaries and patients they served, were *already* protected by the CUA; that's why, aside from federal enforcement, they have been (more or less, depending on how weed-friendly their locality) freely operating all these years.

The people Prop 64 was mainly intended to protect were the thousands of weed consumers, disproportionately black and brown, who lacked the security from arrest and prosecution afforded by the medical cannabis system; and for them, and *all* of us--not just your penny-ante weed dealer pals--things truly are already considerably better!

Re: “Oakland Police Chief's Troubles Resemble Those of Her Past

This was all known before she took the job, yet...here she is! Oakland just refuses to get it right. OPD is riddled with corruption...but the so-called good cops won't stand up against it. Why would they risk those sweet salaries and pensions for the good of the community?
The Mayor will just pass the problems off to the next unfortunate

Re: “Davis in Desperate Gambler Mode

After 30+ years viewing the Raiders drama from my perch in Oakland, there are 3 recurring, dooming patterns: relocation fever, post relocation losing jinx and $ destruction via seat license-based financial plans.. At least this time, the team (vs.) the City of Oakland & Alameda County , (thanks Don Perata) will be on the fiscal hook when the PSL scheme fails and no baseball team will be constructively evicted from its playing venue. Meanwhile I think of the Raiders tax City or County is still paying @ every City/County budget season. I still hope City/County will find way to block/condition move to Raiders paying off the tax, but article implies that Raiders, again, have no money......

Re: “Breaking: Berkeley's KPFA Radio Facing Ruin as New York Real Estate Corporation Considers Seizing Station's Assets to Settle Lawsuit

KPFA Listener Sponsored Radio has been a part of my life since the sixties. I do not want to see it's demise. It appear that hubris and ineptitude are hugely behind this fiasco, as well as cronyism. The bankruptcy ought to have filed some time back; a hue and cry ought to have been broadcast sometime if not years back! What makes Pacifica a separate entity? It has been working as if it is and has no responsibility to KPFA and the other stations it has under its domain. Had attention been brought to this emergency some time back in the form of asking wealthy personality donors who support Pacifica we may have had a chance to pull out of this mess. There are plenty of wealthy entities and/or individual people who may have made a loan to Pacifica who
needed to have been approached. Including creating a marathon fund raising!
