Lawngun, can you translate your one sentence wordsalad into english ?
By the way, what is a lawngun ? Is that a gun libs in the Hills use to keep
'people of color' off their front lawns ?
Just curious. You have a great day now.

Re: “Letters for the Week of April 27

This is the second time the coward hiding behind the name of yoyo guru, rather appropriate pseudonym, has made this accusation. There are plenty of Michael Hardestys and plenty of people who doubt the standard WW2 agit-prop across the board. Your attempted analogies fall flat as they are greatly overused by people who are unable to debate rationally.
Furthermore they have nothing to do at all with the subject at hand.
The so-called Shoah is used as an excuse by Israeli apologists but the original
Zionists always advocated the replacement of the Arab natives with outside Jews.
Israel was created by force and fraud. After the US stage managed UN Partition on November 29, 1947 the armed Zionist militias began expelling Arabs and by June, 1948 close to a million had been expelled. The official
UNWRA stats for 1949 show that they were feeding 960,000 Palestinian Arabs
in camps at that time.
Since 1967 we have given 250 billion, that's a quarter trillion, folks, in tax dollars to Israel so blood is on our hands bigtime.
I never was much interested in Obuma's birthplace. He kept Hillary out and the neocon McCainiac out, so he did two good things but that's it.
He has been as servile a stooge to AIPAC as his moronic predecessor.
And except for Ron Paul, he's still better than the other GOP candidates.

Lawngun, as you well know, Don Perata was actually fairly elected by a large margin in the original honest ballot. Quan was narrowly elected in the crooked IRV ballot.

As far as other nonevents go, I have to agree with what Noam Chomsky wrote to me eighteen years ago regarding the knocking off of JFK, it was about as meaningful as another Saturday night shooting in Roxbury.
That's the Negro section of Boston.

Have a great day, folks, and if you Racist Zionists could abstain from anymore cowardly criminal actions against Rabbi Lerner that would be very nice.

Re: “Letters for the Week of April 27

Well, if you're going to attack Sinkinson: Doing a search on "Michael Hardesty" combined with the word "holocaust" will tell you all you need to know about him. He's a holocaust denier and makes no bones about it elsewhere. Do you also think the world is flat, Mike, or that Obama wasn't born in the US? Oh, wait, that's been disproven...

Re: “Letters for the Week of April 27

How come the print edition omitted the first two letters on Palestine/Israel ?
The only letters they print are Jim Sinkinson's predictably stupid, kneejerk Likudnik kook response and the weak Jeff Hoffman letter.
Sinkinson is part of the very small group of cranks who relentlessly attacked the Berkeley Daily Planet with false accusations of 'anti-semitism' as if all the many critics of Israel, Jewish and Gentile, would support those brutal Israeli policies if Israel was run by Gentiles ! Anyone stupid enough to believe that ?
I disagreed with Becky O'Malley about 99.99% of the time but she has always been extremely fair about running opposing letters. She waited too long to cut off Spitzer after his obvious threats and attempted intimidation. I'd urge a boycott of Sinkinson's Bulldog Reporter if anyone actually read it.
A rather sizable number of Berkeley Jews do disagree with Israeli State policies but even if there were complete agreement it would simply verify Ayn Rand's comment in We The Living that a long line of zeroes just equals
ZERO. Quantity never determines truth.

Re: “Letters for the Week of April 20

Why is this inane letter being reprinted again ? Let the left libs of the hills wine & brie set pay for NPR themselves. Since NPR claims ony 2% of their budget comes from the Feds they should easily make up the difference
from all the six figure nonproductive attorneys and government bureaucrats who are the core of their audience and they have tons of commercials all day on KQED. The National Propaganda Radio Newshour has a long list of corporate sponsors at the beginning of each slanted news hour.
Ayn Rand wrote about The Establishing Of An Establishment in TheAyn Rand Letter in the 70s, get it from Amazon.
Mrs. Walter Mondale had some loaded arts committee thirty years ago with Ray Taliaferro of KGO as its head. You can imagine the slant.
Multiculturalism in Oakland means Blacks Only. Even the PC German government has declared multiculturalism a failure there.
There are thoughtful conservative Blacks who oppose all this nonsense too.
Mostly braindead white libs are pushing it.

Re: “Letters for March 30

Trying to preserve the environment and not killing animals to extinction "for our children" is part of the problem. To really save the earth, humans should stop reproducing. It is criminal to keep producing more humans. Usually about now the response is hysterical about how I'm advocating humans to die out., but really, considering the obscene number keeps doubling, that's not likely to happen.

Re: “Letters for March 9

I think using the header "Gallant is guilty" over my letter tends to put words in my mouth, but also reinforces my complaint which was more about the job your paper has done covering Alameda City Hall than it was to point out how bad Gallant is supposed to be.

Re: “Letters for March 9

I think the point is that we all do live in our own universe. I am white, but married to someone of different ethnicity and we feel very happy in Oakland. I know that sometimes people of other races are suspicious of me, in fact may dislike me because I'm white. These are their feelings and are not personal to me but say a lot about their experience in the world. However, I have sincere friends from all backgrounds and races in Oakland. Yes, my universe may indeed be an alternate one from yours. I respect that you have had a different experience. S-J Harrison

Re: “Letters for March 9

Susan Jane-Harrison is totally wrong. The arts should not be government supported. This is just a scheme to create a politically constituency for certain favored artists who couldn't make it in a free market as Ayn Rand documented many years in one of her newsletters. The Walter Mondales got KGO Radio motormouth Ray Taliaferro appointed as head of their arts patronage group in San Francisco and Ray tried to censor the Moscone Bust in a notorious incident. As far Oakland's alleged multiculturalism goes, what alternative universe is Miz Jane-Harrison living in ? Oakland is the home of Black anti-white racism. I grew up in the then segregated DC area in the 60s and never saw anywhere near the level of racism I've seen by Berkeley-Oakland blacks the last 31 years living here. I've spoken to many people here who have had the same experience. The NEA should be abolished along the other NEA and NPR. National Propaganda Radio. No state subsidized privileged elites.

Re: “Letters for February 23

McNeil illustrates to a "t" the statist-mentality in both our schools and our city councils. The LAST thing that California needs is more anti-business legislation and the so-called Prop 13 "reform" would be the last straw for many businesses. Cutting or eliminating taxes is not any kind of subsidy as the taxes are forcibly stolen from us. If any private entity operated the same way they would considered as criminal. Redevelopment is the biggest scam in the country including California. Sometimes as in San Francisco's notorious Negro Removal in the Fillmore in the 60s it does seem racially motivated but it's still a scam whether it's Golden Gateway or the World Trade Center. Private property is stolen to give to other private individuals.
The notorious 1954 Supreme Court decision authored by Justice William O. Douglas set this in motion on a huge scale. Then that terrible 5-4 Supreme Court decision on the New London case in 2005 reaffirmed it.
Brown needs to stick to his guns. The more of these programs that exist, the more people in "need" we are going to see. The temporary New Deal programs have all become "entitlements" and this can't go on. Something's got to give.

Re: “Letters for February 16

The problem with the transportation system around here, Berkeley, Oakland, SF, whatever is that public transport is way too expensive. Have every stop be one fare and you would see a huge rise in folks using BART to get around - it works in other cities, most notably NY - try that here and see how the traffic will abate.

Re: “Letters for February 16

Re Measures Y and BB: Bob, yes, we know (or most of us do) that BB relieved Oakland of its obligation under Measure Y. The problem is that the city had already relieved itself of that obligation. Measure BB just gave it an excuse.
Clearly, that's what letter writer Rachael Miller meant.

I also agree with letter writer Michael Ferro, who points out that Batts was blamed here for failing to do things - like negotiate the city's budget - that clearly are not in his job description. I made the same comment weeks ago. Batts has been blamed here for just about everything but the weather. I'm hoping that the Express will begin to see how tired we all are of this. Do some journalism for a change. Please.

Re: “Letters for the Week of February 9

Thank you for the OPD success story, Ms. Pfeil. Though the public bias has swung to the cop-hating side of the meter lately, it is refreshing to hear stories of positive outcomes from the difficult, dangerous and distasteful work to which the Oakland Police are routinely subjected.
