Re: “Nearly Every Scene In New Baywatch Appears Framed To Appease Corporate Sponsors

I get the feeling the reviewer almost feels they have to rip this movie or be castigated by fellow scribes. I never watched Bayeatch but like The Rock and Alexandra. This movie doesn't present itself for anything more than it is - a light-hearted spinoff of its former self. It was simple, funny and easy on the eyes. The Rock is very likable. The other characters, so-so. Believable? Meh. But I kind of knew that going in. Can't we just go to a movie and have a little fun? This reviewer has to stop taking himself so seriously. Not every film is life or death.

Re: “Casey Affleck A Misfit Again in Manchester By The Sea

I agree with the review. There was no character arc (he shows one emotion throughout - whoa is me), nor can I sympathize with a protagonist who is unlikeable ("My life sucks so I'm going to pick a fight and beat the crap out of you for no reason.") And the ending is as exciting and rewarding as a two-by-four (The kid doesn't want to move away from his friends and his legal guardian the fight picker doesn't want to move back to his hometown, so what to do? They both stay in their respective towns and the boy lives with friends of the family. Wow, that was tough to resolve and oh such an exciting conclusion.)
