Re: “Berkeley City Council to Consider Four Different Plans to Tackle Homelessness Crisis

They do not address the number of houseless folks, which usually number in the hundreds or thousands. According to an article in dailycal.org, Berkeley has 664 homeless residents, living on the streets. none of those plans shelter all of them. if you are only going to shelter a few, create actual housing.

Re: “Berkeley City Council to Consider Four Different Plans to Tackle Homelessness Crisis

Forgotten in all the hubbub of these plans is the fact that there is no dialogue about creating low-cost housing in the city of Berkeley. None of these programs address that.

We at "first they came for the homeless" believe that all these programs are set up and designed to fail. Any money that is spent on anything other than housing is a waste of money.

So, while we applaud the city of Berkeley for at least addressing the problem, these programs are far, far short of what is needed to combat the situation of being unhoused.
