Re: “Eight Must-Try New Places in the East Bay Where Origins Matter

I had lunch at Dyafa - a $16 wrap, unadorned on a white plate. Color me unimpressed. Expensive, nothing special. Maybe its better for dinner.

Re: “Eight Must-Try New Places in the East Bay Where Origins Matter

Nyum Bai is absolutely a must to sit and try the various specialties. We went last night after a reading a glowing review in NYT.
We had already heard about and ate at her first place in the emeryville market. It was definitely delicious.

Re: “Cafeteria Food: What the Tray Says About Us

For those out and about and travelling to the southwest or mountain states, the Furr's/Bishop's cafeteria chain must be experienced. Theirs are large home-y places that serve everything under the sun from the general classic American cooking menu. While I've been grounded for many years, I imagine their menus have kept up with the times ..

Re: “A Guide to the East Bay's Best Tortas

the carne asada torta at El Farolito is excellent - cheese grilled crispy, the steak is a whole piece, not the little pieces you get everywhere else. my favorite, though i'll check out these.

Re: “Best Garden Whiz and Butterfly Savior: Victoria 'Tora' Rocha

Tora, I need help with my "butterfly garden." All my monarchs succumbed
to the parasite (Tachind Fly?) because the sun in our climate change
conditions apparently affected a chemical on the formerly healthy leaves
of many many milkweed plants in my back garden. All of the chrysalises
were infected, and I watched many of them die, ending with a little "string"
hanging out. Have removed all old plants. Now what? Cecilia Riddell

Re: “ The Rebel Kings Invite You to the Stage

Ugh SO GOOD! Ive been going to the rebel king show since the first ever show and have seen people come and go and ive seen the shyest people brave enough to take the stage (im not shy at all and yet still havent had the guts to go on stage) Moving to Portland was probably one the hardest things ive had to do with leaving the Kings behind and not being able to just show up and watch them kill the stage. I will be back! I love all of you with all my heart! - Lucky

Re: “The Best Dog-Friendly Restaurant Patios in the East Bay

Aaahhh,,there's a place in Berkley you don't mention. The food is perfect everytime, for all the years I come. In fact, since moving out of state,it's on my list to frequent when revisiting 'the bay'. The place is Picantes. (hope the spelling is correct) Be prepared for a line when ordering. But,the food comes fast. You seat yourself, the patio chairs in front is where the leashed dogs have accompanied many dog owners...PLEASE be a responsible pet owner. Nobody needs an aggressive dog,a begging dog, or a dog in need to use the area as 'potty' call

Re: “So You Want to Start a Food Business

Good Day, I am Mr.Pablo Jimmy,currently

living in USA,I am a married man
at the moment with two kids and i was

stuck in a financial situation
by august 2012 and i needed to refinance

and pay my bills for my son
medication. I tried seeking loans from

various loan firms both private
and corporate but never with success, and

most banks declined my
credit. But as God would have it, i was

introduced to a Man of God a
private loan lender by a friend named Mr.

Roderick and i got a loan
sum of $100,000.00USD and today i am a

business owner and my kids are
doing well at the moment. So dear,if you

must contact any firm with
reference to securing a loan with low

interest rate of 2% and better
repayment plans and schedule,please

contact Mr.Jude Shanko he doesnt
know that i am doing this but i am so

happy now and i decided to let
people know more about him, he offers all

kinds of loans to both
individuals and companies and also i want

God to bless him more. You
can contact his company through this

Re: “Our Guide to Destination Hikes

Black diamond mines has a ridge trail I would deem as moderate and offers vast vistas throughout. A ranger there turned us on to it when we were looking to view wildflowers and it was delightful. On our previous visit we hiked up to the cemetery which offers a spectacular view of the hills with flying raptors hunting.
