Only an idiot needs to have an app. that tells them an earthquake is happening. That is as stupid as your corrupt governor.

Re: “Monday's Briefing: Undocumented residents can now serve on state boards; Teenagers can sleep in on school days

Our civic leaders are supposed to have learned their lesson about funding extravagant sports monoliths, but here they are again, weakening environmental regulations, paying for transportation to the monolith, and weakening the state's rules for non-complying waterfront uses. On top of all that, the proposed design is friggin' ugly.

I'd like to see the As stay, but at what cost?

Eligible, yes. Thanks to both of you for catching these typos.

Re: “Friday's Briefing: Bay Commission has plan to help stave off rising seas; Cal cheerleader files suit for untreated concussions

How exactly does a educational institution "force" someone to continue cheerleading?! Reading the article is sure looks like she made a deliberate choice... Oh wait, it's Berkeley and so someone ELSE is responsible for your choices

Re: “Oakland Approves 'Safe Havens' for Homeless Camps and Services

- 90% of homeless people are temporarily homeless, so ten times who you see on the street at any one time are pulling themselves up by the bootstraps, just like you imagine, getting some room, moving out of town, finding some solution. It's just you're not helping them do that.
- The median rent in Oakland is like $2900, and most people without showers and jobs aren't going to get in shared housing. It's difficult to see how anyone leaps from the street to a job bringing home $40K after taxes.
- People often bring up mental health issues like it was a sign homelessness wasn't real or something. The mental health hospitals and SNFs are full of people who would otherwise be homeless, and most of the people ready for discharge are awaiting some kind of supportive housing. You have paid for nothing like the number of beds and programs needed to support schizophrenics and poor opioid addicts.
- The people that really bother yall are the ones that act out, e.g. the ones with multiple psych disorders and substance abuse issues, and are the people who are not responsive to tough love style solutions, they just need care. There's way more people who want care and who are not getting it than who refuse care, so if you want to obsess on stronger 5150 laws as they do in San Francisco applicable to ten out of ten thousand people, maybe you should also pay for some more beds.
- you always hear this reducing your property values like it was some sort of real cost, but it's the homeowners who are causing this problem. Yall are pretty much all millionaires, who made bank from an inappropriate rise in home prices relative to incomes which excludes all future generations from access to property, and I'm personally not super concerned if your net worth drops to 950K or something because you don't want to put in public bathrooms and someone pees on your porch.
- I mean, this is a genocide in progress. The least you can do is let people use plywood to help themselves, and there's been some real trouble letting people do the least they can do, which is why our shanty towns are considerably worse than those in supposedly poor countries, because there's this genocide in progress. You want to think the genocides are all in Texas border prisons while you whistle past the ones right in front of your face, because, I guess poor black schizophrenics brought it on themselves for bad behavior?

Re: “Chronic Christians: Did Jesus Heal with Pot?

It is perfectly clear, beyond any doubt that the author of this article knows NOTHING about Jesus or Christianity. For one, Jesus never did any drugs of any type, nor did He celebrated His birth with a Christmas tree. Christmas Trees are PAGAN!........................I could go on and on here, but I will sum it up rather quickly. YOUR AN IDIOT!

Re: “Corruption Probe Into Oakland's Code Enforcement Inspectors Widens

I have been trying to legalize an small structure on a lot in West Oakland for the last 2 years and have been deprived of honest services by some code inspectors. Very difficult for an individual to fight corruption of a few bad apples at the Oakland Building Department.

Re: “I Went to an ICP Show Last Night and I Think I Might Be a Juggalo Now

Dont hate on ICP for their lyrics, it is for the shock factor, to ENTERTAIN. They say what they say to give their audience a release. As if to reach out and say I know youre hurting or youre P!$$ed off, let me release that anger FOR you. Joe Bruce aka Violent J has even said so him that it is to be used as a release! Plain and simple, if the magic of the carnival doesnt speak to you, well then it wasnt meant for you. BUT for those who DO get it, feel it, that is where they find family. It is where some who feel unloved and unwanted find family, where the mismatched and misfit can find understanding WITHOUT judgement on outward appearances or nonsensical things of that matter. It goes way past all that. It goes to sharing love and being on a journey to again find a bit of innocence and purity once lost. There is a spirituality to it all. They go through dark times, great times, and albums show you different versions or faces of yourself mirrored back, I feel I explained enough.
If ya know, ya know. Period. If not, maybe next time you run across an album it will speak to you and be your turn to join the carnival, if not...Well good luck on whatever path ya take.
