Re: “Blade Runner 2049: Making America Dismal Again

Of course you and most of your readers don't want to explore our current situation.

That's why you go to the movies.

Re: “Loving Vincent, and Perhaps Murdering Him, Too

the spectacle of the film is at first nearly overwhelming. But, once one gets used to seeing the Vincent mode on a constant level, it is a pleasure to watch. The conjecture over Vincent's cause of death is quite plausible and the doctor's forensic analysis of the wound's initiation...not done by Vincent's hand...is very compelling. The course of Armand's journey following Vincent's path is not at all tedious...but very enlightening as drama and as narrative. All rings true for the viewer and makes this film a joy and hopefully a success in all ways for its creators. loved it.

Re: “Mother!: Who Are All These People?

Wow. You completely missed what this movie is a metaphor for...The Poet represents God. Jlaw was Mother Nature. The Man and Woman were Adam and Eve, their children Cain and Abel. The movie represents the progression of humans populating (and destroying) Earth (the house). We see war, slavery, religious fanaticism, greed, humans' disregard of taking care of the planet all represented throughout. The heartbeat was the wellbeing of the planet and Mother Nature monitoring and trying to protect it until she finally snapped with the death of her baby (jesus). Not saying it was a perfect movie but how on earth did you misunderstand so completely what this movie was about???
