Re: “Best Locally Made Liquor

I've had a Tres Agaves Margarita and it was the freshest margarita I have ever had. It's amazing at how great it tastes with only 3 ingredients. Tres Agaves is making margarita's real again. I heard you can buy it at Beverages and More, is there anywhere else you've seen it??

Re: “Best Locally Handmade Baby Shoes

I just came back from Honduras. While there, I visited the campus of the Leadership University being built by Art for Humanity. Financial donations are welcome to help with the shipping of the shoes, and the construction of the school. For school info: info
for donation: I will try to send you some fotos

Re: “Best Aspiring Homemade Cheesecake Maker

I live in Oakland, and I only heard about this through Pharyngula. I'll give this place a try the first chance I get.

Re: “Smallest Cigar Shop Worth Puffing About

Osullivan's in now under new ownership, and completely remodeled. In addition to a great selection of cigars, there is now a lounge/seating area with leather chairs and a 42 inch flat screen TV. It's a great place to hang and enjoy a cigar!

Re: “Best Photo Lab

I absolutely agree!! It's a great store with friendly, knowledgeable and caring staff... Ag Photo can do EVERYTHING photo-related, whether its digital or analog, and if they can't, they'll bend over backwards to help you find a way... I've seen them help old-time professional photographers and people perplexed with their new digital cameras in the same breath. Ag Photo's the best!

Re: “Best Specialty Bookstore

I took a trip to Walnut Creek and you were no longer there. Do you still have a place where we can go to buy special AA products?
Susie Baxter

Thank you and miss you

Re: “Least Likely Spot to Run into Oprah

The Book Shop is amazing! Hank is a sage and Rene is a goddess of books. It's like Moe's Books (in Berkeley), but it's in HAYWARD. How cool is that? The new books they feature on their main shelf show how spiritually and politically enlightened these two are. It's surprising how often they have the used books I want, and at surprisingly fair prices, and they can track down hard-to-find books for you with ease. You can order via e-mail, and anything you can get from Amazon, you can get from The Book Shop. It is such a pleasure to spend time there, and always interesting talking with Hank and Rene. Right next door is the Bistro, where you can get a great glass of beer to enhance your book browsing. I too give The Book Shop and A+.

Re: “Old-Timey-est Bakery

My children began requesting the Neldam cakes for their birthday parties in the 70's.

As grownups, they are still requesting the Fruitbasket cake.

Thank you for the many years of wonderful memories.

Re: “Best Bookstore: A cozy, bookish, community place

I drove by Wilmot’s a hundred times and never stopped, then one day I was walking by and decided to stroll on in. At the time I was reading W.S. Burroughs and wanted to read ‘Naked Lunch’. Sure enough, Wilmot’s had a couple of copies, along with other hard to find ‘Beat’ writers. The bookstore is old-style and has a surprisingly good stock that is constantly changing. Sure, I pop into Borders down at South Shore Plaza more than Wilmot’s, mainly out of laziness, but regular trips to Wilmot’s, especially just to browse and see what turns up, are always rewarding. In fact, I may need to stop by today….

Re: “Best Bollywood Video Rental: So you never have to say you're sari

I have been going to Bombay Music for about ten years and have been pleased with their Indian / Bollywood music CDs and video DVDs. They recently moved about half block away to the corner of San Pablo and University (2000 San Pablo ave) in Berkeley.

They also provide parking here. Their new phone number is 510-845-3311. Bombay Music is closed on Mondays.
