Re: “Best of the East Bay 2016: Shopping & Services Writers' Picks

You have to be a Berkeley resident to use the BPL Tool Library. If you live in Oakland, you can rely on the larger (5000 items) tool lending library at the Temescal Branch!

Re: “Best of the East Bay 2016: Food & Drink Writers' Picks

Thank you for including Richmond. I was getting increasingly annoyed in reading your other 2016 winners lists and not seeing the city we live in represented. The East Bay is much more than Oakland and Berkeley!

Re: “Can I Recycle That?

To Michael Dreyfus-Pai Anyone know about milk and juice cartons? They have layers of paper and plastic, but are often not recyclable.

City of Alameda service tells us to COMPOST (and we can collect our compostables in the cartons) IF THE PLASTIC CAP AND OPENING ARE FIRST REMOVED. Otherwise, recycle.

Re: “Can I Recycle That?

City of Alameda service takes those waxy coated cardboard milk/juice cartons in COMPOST IF YOU REMOVE THE PLASTIC OPENINGS (CAP AND OPENING). Otherwise they tell us to put in recycling.

Re: “Escape the Music Festival Industrial Complex at this year's Burger Boogaloo

"Egregious example" -god, smoke a joint and chill. Two words: Wu-Tang Clan. People of all groups reference other cultures insensitively at times. EBX always using a white example of it -that's egregious.

Burgers and Boogaloo sounds like fun.

Re: “Escape the Music Festival Industrial Complex at this year's Burger Boogaloo

And at around fifty bucks to attend both days of the festival, the Burger Boogaloo is a great bargain too. And it really is a great community event where everybody has fun, no matter who is playing. Seriously.

Don't forget that most Bay Area libraries offer free and discounted museum passes through Discover and Go--if you have a library card, you can go all sorts of places for free!

How could you leave out the world-class UC Botanical Garden? It's on Centennial Drive between LHS and the football stadium. It has one of the world's largest collections of plants, about 12,000 species. A wonderful peaceful place, with views of the Golden Gate.
