Re: “Activists Call for Audit of Sheriff Ahern

You really need to investigate Lang Davis born 14 sept 1961 he is a scamming hacker who impersonates the highest ranking military you have on hangouts as it finds a sucker and says it will only talk on that medium. I contacted it yesterday and now there is no record of it ever being sent this scum has made over a million during GFC yet had not a cent of income.

Re: “Kyle "Based Stickman" Chapman Charged with Possession of Leaded Stick by Alameda District Attorney

Hopefully these coward prosecutors aren't reported without any mention of their names. If they are going to apply the law based on politics then they will be recognized for such

Re: “Complaint Filed Against Oakland Police Chief for False Statements

Chip Johnson was correct. There is no right in Oakland. The left eats itself daily.

Re: “Monday’s Briefing: Oakland Gets 255 Legal Pot Permit Applications; Another State Legislator Accused of Sexual Harassment

Sexual harassment claims and incidents being reported are the tip of the iceberg. This is going to get huge.

Re: “Despite Canceled Hearing, Oakland Councilmembers Still Plan to Talk About Controversial ICE Raid

The hearing had been scheduled on October 12. A month before the Internal Affairs complaint was even filed. The hearing was not about the IA complaint. It was about OPD's actions during the West Oakland ICE raid. Schaaf announced on November 21 that she would support a policy to prevent all future OPD cooperation with HSI or ICE.

Re: “Monday’s Briefing: Oakland Gets 255 Legal Pot Permit Applications; Another State Legislator Accused of Sexual Harassment

Back in the day, many decades ago, when it was cool to be a stoner (especially as opposed to an alky), no one could even have hallucinated that pot would become a mainstream economic sector.

Personally I still think it's an hallucination, but I haven't had a toke yet today.

Re: “Study: Higher Minimum Wage and Other Progressive Policies Have Not Hurt Economic Growth in California

And of all things coming from one of the most liberal institutions in the country. Give it a rest as to what comes out of the UC System and the progressive agenda.

Re: “Study: Higher Minimum Wage and Other Progressive Policies Have Not Hurt Economic Growth in California

Well "a study" is just that. While the study might have some merit the author seems to have an agenda in conducting this study so why not publish it in a peer reviewed economics journal? Let other determine if the basis of the claims made has any statistical or useful merit? Then make fuss about it!

Re: “New Oakland Fire Chief: City Needs to Hire More Firefighters and Inspectors

I'm trying to come up with a clever phrase for Mayor Schaaf to use regarding public safety, especially fire safety (the other kind--having to dodge flying lead--is probably not worth the bother).

How about "Oakland loves to shout 'fire' everywhere because we really care."

A clever phrase can work much more effectively than actually solving a problem. Especially in Oakland.

Re: “Citing Possible School Closures and Fiscal Problems, Oakland School Board Denies New Charter School Petition

The student on the board has been poorly trained in Public School governance. Not really her fault; the adults do not seem to understand their jobs either. The Board members may not legally "vote against the proposal out of philosophical opposition to charters." The Board's role is to see that the laws governing public schools are implemented fairly, consistently, and without bias and/or discrimination. They are NOT legislators. Charter law is clear and OUSD staff knows that this school meets all requirements. Too bad our Bd of Ed is more interested in grandstanding than good governance.

Re: “Cases Against Police Officers Who Sexually Exploited Underage Girl Known as Celeste Guap Fall Apart

I'm seeing more outrage over Al Franken's "gesture" towards a woman's boobs - than is being exhibited over what happened to this woman. THIS IS THE OUTRAGE! The fact we seem to have a double standard about who we are getting "offended" over the way they're being treated! NINE WOMEN WERE RAPED BY JAMES DEEN - AND I DON'T SEE ANYONE TALKING ABOUT "RETRAINING" THE PORN INDUSTRY!!! #METOO www.sexworkersanonymous.com

Re: “San Leandro and Berkeley See Significant Rise in Reported Hate Crimes

Does anyone but me find it very strange that in a region of seven million people, not one single hate crime against white people is ever recorded?

Re: “Real Estate Money Fills Campaign Coffers of Oakland Politicians

I wonder what happened from this. Now property prices are only growing. People with low salaries are increasingly harder to buy housing. When I had a need to buy my house, I did not have much money. But I was looking for cheap houses. I decided to buy not expensive and not very beautiful, and then gradually I will make it better. But I came to these sites https://www.zillow.com https://jacksonfuller.com
https://www.homes.com and helped me find a good house for a good price. I'm grateful to them.

Re: “Wednesday’s Briefing: Judge Says Oakland Had a ‘Duty’ to Deal With Ghost Ship; Two Former UC Officials Interfered With State Audit

It did not take long for a Superior Court judge to determine that once they had knowledge, the City of Oakland had a legal duty to put the Ghost Ship property owner on notice of the life safety violations on the property. They should have at a minimum advised the parties that the residential occupancy was illegal. Mitigation measures should have included fines, immediate evictions and a compliance plan with target dates for completion. Instead, the City did nothing and people died. The question I have is why the District Attorney did not include the City of Oakland and the owner in the initial charging of the building manager. That is clearly negligence on the District Attorneys (Nancy O'malley) part and deserves EBX investigation.

Re: “San Leandro and Berkeley See Significant Rise in Reported Hate Crimes

I wonder if these statistics include crimes where masked thugs go around destroying property and beating up anyone who practices a conservative ideology and calling them nazis? My initial guess would be no, but such crimes should be included

Re: “Despite Canceled Hearing, Oakland Councilmembers Still Plan to Talk About Controversial ICE Raid

So... Hoffer filed an internal affairs complaint (potentially a criminal investigation), and somehow expected that to occur in public? Are ANY criminal investigations conducted in public?

I have an extremely difficult time thinking this official failed to consider this or was so clueless as to expect it.

What this LOOKS like is transparency theater (appearing to be transparent while preforming actions that will in fact obscure what's going on)... With EBX and DBG as either dupes or complicit in the cover up by encouraging the activities that trigger confidential handling.

Innocent until proven guilty... Not in the court of EBX.

Re: “Despite Canceled Hearing, Oakland Councilmembers Still Plan to Talk About Controversial ICE Raid

Oakland should roll out the red carpet for ICE and the DEA. Enough is enough!

Re: “Despite Canceled Hearing, Oakland Councilmembers Still Plan to Talk About Controversial ICE Raid

"Mayor Libby Schaaf has come out in support of Kirkpatrick, saying she's "met with Chief Kirkpatrick and has "not seen anything that calls into question the chiefs truthfulness or integrity."

Schaaf is the perfect person to rely upon regarding problems of "truthfulness or integrity."
