Re: “43 Must-Do Summer Activities In The Bay Area!

How about the Woodminster Summer Musicals? Summer 2017 is their 51st season presenting big Broadway style musicals outdoors in historic Woodminster Amphitheater in Joaquin Miller Park. This year, Mamma Mia!, South Pacific, and Beauty and the Beast. Big casts including professional actors and live professional orchestras. Lots of ticket promo prices for various ages.

Re: “Oakland's Only Nigerian Restaurant Was Set to Close, Until Community Rallied Behind Miliki

GREAT!!!!!!I was hoping the restaurant would get extended lease. I do not think our hood needs yet another tech-driven tap room. Sequoia keeps it real, and it is family owned as well. Which reminds me that I am feeling a bit peckish...Got go get me some GOAT!

Re: “Buck Stops Nowhere: Oakland Unified School District Suffering From Multiple Vacancies in Key Finance Positions

Why have so many talented and highly skilled people left?

Because of OUSD's insistence of trying to be Alameda County's social services agency. Progressive spending. It's for the kids. Eye roll. They deserve all the bad things that happen to them. Only the kids are innocent. A bunch of asshat, the whole lot of them.

Re: “Picán Restaurant in Uptown Oakland Closing ... For Now

Not sure about your analysis of Oakland politics but I CAN tell you the restaurant industry is going through major changes (the outcome of which is up in the air) and full service restaurants are struggling and/or closing throughout the Bay Area.

Re: “Oakland Privacy Committee Urges Police Cut Ties with Immigration and Customs Enforcement

Oakland has a privacy committee? Does this committee care about the privacy of crime victims being intentionally endangered by the DA and police releasing their personal information, address, phone, names of their family and friends, along with pages and pages of falsified homicide reports containing crimes not even committed by these innocent people, but crime committed by third parties now attached to criminal records searches of innocent victims of crime into google searches for their small businesses and professional lives?www.karmawon.wordpress.com Stop the aggression and cyber terrorism against Innocent women if you want your city reputation to improve https://karmawon.wordpress.com/2017/02/10/…

Re: “Picán Restaurant in Uptown Oakland Closing ... For Now

EBX is where the narrative goes to thrive, such story tellers. Pican was the gentrification they wanted to see. The restaurant cost around $1.8m to build and it's always been expensive, from day one. I ate there in 2009 and thought the cost was too high, similar to a high quality place in SF but in a cheaper desolate part of Oakland. Oakland businesses are dieing because Oakland (the City and its political class) only know how to operate in an idealistic vacuum AND milk a good thing until it's dead. It's been doing the same thing for 40+ years with the exact same results. We're only thriving because regional pressure has become so incredibly enormous.

Re: “Gentrification Station: Why Oakland Still Says NO to Uber

I've joined No Uber Oakland and look forward to Oakland residents giving this disgusting company a very cold welcome. With any luck they'll realize they're not wanted here and will sell the building.

Re: “How City Hall Crushed Occupy Oakland

Occupy Oakland started out as a semi legitimate protest made up of well meaning and educated people. It ended up as a garbage dump of humanity, with no self policing, filthy campsites, drug abuse, and violent participants. I followed it and visited it for months. I was so grateful when they were gone. This book is just far left propaganda.
