Re: “The Artists Loft

LOVE The Artists Loft! Fun and funky space. Friendly and personable staff. The gallery is very nice and centrally located in downtown Oakland near the courthouse. Very close to freeways. Opening nights draw a large crowd. Staff and artists are talkative, respectful, and very cool.

Re: “57th Street Gallery

I think this club closed down in early 2016. Haven't seen any activity in almost 2 years. Owner Floyd Pellom changed personal phone number for first time in more than 12 years and moved. He may have had another skirmish with the law.

Re: “The Back Room

Great intimate venue with a hip big city vibe and great sound system - almost went 4 stars for lack of drinks, but actually that makes it even cooler - bring exactly whatever you want to drink! Pro tip: bring a small cooler and consider offering the band a drink!

Re: “The UC Theatre Taube Family Music Hall

Honestly, they have the best sound I've heard at any venue in the Bay Area...

A truly beautiful room sonically and visually. The Fillmore of the East Bay with even more cutting edge sound and easier public transit access... Literally two blocks from Downtown Berkeley BART.

Staff is friendly and attentive. Even the food is good.

Re: “4th Street Fine Art

Fabulous place to watch local artists create and also sell their work at affordable prices. I highly recommend a visit.

Re: “Encyclical Gallery

A really thought provoking show! I really enjoyed seeing the diversity of interpretation of Pope Francis's Encyclical.

Re: “The Back Room

What a fantastic space! A cool club with comfy couches, excellent sound and great music. AND you can BYOB for no charge (they don't sell alcohol here).

Berkeley has been missing a smaller, more intimate place for acoustic music since the Freight grew up and became huge, and The Back Room fills this gap with style! I love the variety of music - folk, blues, soul, pop, world, bluegrass, Cajun, etc. - and it has a very chill, friendly vibe.

Re: “Piedmont Piano Company

I purchased my Steinway D from Peidmont Piano Company and I could not be happier! Thanks to Jim Callahan, the manager, I was able to purchase and have the concert grand shipped from the California SanFrancisco bay area to Dayton, Tennessee without issue. I also got a great deal! Thank you Jim and Piedmont Pianos!!!

Re: “Piedmont Piano Company

You can see musicians up close and personal at this venue with an outstanding selection of world-class pianos surrounding you. The shows have enhanced with new lighting on some nights and it's absolutely breathtaking.
