Re: “New Year's Eve Guide: 16 Ways to Tell 2016 to Screw Off

Lets just hope all those folks who take your advice to go out and obliterate brain cells wholesale (when exactly did blackout drinking become a good thing?) don't drive. Be safe out there, OK?

Re: “Sick Fest: A Lesson in 'Sick Woman Theory'

My brother lives in Oakland, and sent me a link to the article, across the pond in England.
I was bedbound for 14 years with chronic fatigue syndrome. Now, happily, I have a joyful increase in mobility and speech and I am 'out' in the world through websites and writing.
Wishing you success in this venture and the warmth of knowing that your beauty persists whether seen or unseen. Congratulations on your oomph.

Re: “Sick Fest: A Lesson in 'Sick Woman Theory'

As a woman with tick-borne illness which has led to me becoming increasingly invisible to my former colleagues and friends, I would have very much liked to have attended. Until you go down the rabbit hole of chronic illness you have no idea how marginalized you can become. I know, for people who are chronically ill, it is a monumental task to put something like this on; thanks so much for doing it.

Re: “Sick Fest: A Lesson in 'Sick Woman Theory'

I like this. I have interstitial cystitis. An invisible condition that is often ignored. We need to be heard and seen.

This is really a great show, and every one, even the uncomfortable ones, are always entertaining and informative. I love it.

Re: “Preceding Pride, a Week of Queer Art

Come on! You couldn't find an Oakland picture for a story about an Oakland-based event?

Re: “Out to Redefine Safety

"Norris described his understanding of safety as centered in equal access to employment, healthcare, and restorative justice. "Our whole public safety approach is an incarceration-first approach," he said. Part of the event will be collectively developing alternatives."

Rubbish! 80% of the activity is a tired, dreary pantomime of catch and release. And the choir of self-appointed advocates continues to get paid to wail and distort the narrative. The remedies these advocates promote are a form of micro-aggressions against victims of crime.

Re: “Dancing with Ira Glass

After seeing the show, it would mean the world to me if I got back those 3 hours back from life. Ira Glass program was tedious. The two dancers could not dance. His jokes fell flat and he makes fun of ppl in a mean way.

Re: “Fixing Wikipedia's Women Problem

The only "woman problem" at Wikipedia is "Sarah Stierch" herself.

She's a totally corrupt individual who was caught secretly engaging in paid editing, something entirely against all the principles of the project For your average editor to do this would represent a major problem, but for a Wikimedia staff member to do it presents an enormous scandal.

Stierch has completely disgraced the project and the Wikimedia foundation and I doubt any editor with any credibility wishes to see her go anywhere near the project. The fact she thinks she still in a position to help recruit new editors is absolutely laughable, and if she had any sense or decency she'd have left the site completely when her activities were exposed.
