7:17 p.m. Wednesday, After Yoga: Best Place to Eat Thai Food Barefoot

Lotus Thai Cuisine

While it may be the dream of many foot fetishists, the actual experience of eating in a restaurant in which no one is wearing any shoes can be a little upsetting to those who have a pathological fear of toes. But, thankfully, the sections of Lotus Thai that require patrons to be shoeless are slung upon a raised platform. Noodle eaters must slip their legs under the table and out of sight beneath the platform before they're able to contort into position on the legless, cushioned chairs. The waitstaff gets quite a workout shoelessly bringing food to tables, but coconut-milk soups and curries somehow taste better when you can see that the person who brought it to you has slender, well-manicured tootsies. Take a tip from the waitstaff before arriving, though: wear clogs or flip-flops and loosen up with some stretching.
