4:00 p.m. Friday: Best Flower Shop

For fifteen years, Bloomies has supplied the East Bay with stunning arrangements for everything from the dining room table to weddings. The quaint shop carries hundreds of varieties of flowers and specializes in seasonal bouquets. Each spring, the store stocks up on dahlias, lilacs, peonies, sweet peas, and tulips. It also always carries a nice selection of greens and branches. Walk inside and the scent of fresh flowers is so delectable, it's like stepping into a blooming field. Bloomies eschews refrigeration, so the flowers stay fresh and fragrant. The store will cater to each customer's taste but it specializes in European garden-style arrangements. Flowers are delivered in simple glass vases, sometimes finished with raffia or silk ribbon; customers can also bring their own vases for gift bouquets or arrangements for their own homes. Each bouquet is made by the store's floral designers and delivery arrangements start at $56.83. While Bloomies is always stocked up on seasonal flowers, it regularly carries freesia, lilies, irises, and roses. Friday afternoon is the best time to come so you can have a gorgeous, fresh bouquet to enjoy over the weekend.
