3rd Annual La Cumbia Del Amor Benefit Show

When: Sat., Feb. 10, 7 p.m. 2018
Price: $5-$10 sliding scale
If you’re still looking for the perfect Valentine’s Day outing, why not take the opportunity to show some love to the community as well as your significant other? This Saturday, the gallery and tattoo shop Amor Eterno Arte will open its doors for the 3rd Annual La Cumbia Del Amor, a benefit show for Danza Cuauhtonal, an Aztec dance group out of Oakland that was established in 1989. Amor Eterno Arte is not only known for Sal “Chamuco” Cortez’s tattooing skills, but also as a space where Chamuco and his wife, Amy Cortez, showcase artists of color. Locals flock there whenever they have an event. The night will also include tacos, live cumbia music by La Nueva Silueta, and a raffle with prizes including handmade art by local artists, gift certificates from local shops, and tattoo time with Chamuco. No need for expensive dinner and jewelry to surprise your Valentine when you can instead support your Oakland neighbors and their art.
