Please join us on First Friday, July 7th from 6-9pm at The New Parkway Theater (474 24th St, Oakland, CA 94612) for the 3rd Annual Black & Brown Unity Film Festival. Organized by United Roots and Trap Medicine, and sponsored by the Akonadi Foundation, this year’s festival is themed TrapMedicine: Healing Through Cinema and will focus on breaking the stigma of mental health in the Black and Brown Diaspora. This program will screen some of the most innovative short films created this year in Oakland, and host a panel to honor youth entrepreneurs and filmmakers of color from United Roots.
