Re: “Merritt College Nursing Woes

I am 2nd year student ..in my third semester to be exact!!! I can understand your frustration, but don't let anyone or anything keep you from becoming a RN....Yes the first year was hard and yes their was some self teaching from our study groups, but we have faith in GOD that he will pull us through anything that comes our way!!! Please stop bashing our school down ....I am proud to go to clinical with my blue and gold patch on my uniform on representing Merritt College and for you first year students who did make it pass the hump.. .."keep pushing through" as Ms. Kelly would say, you don't have to love it but just pass and retain what you can from your Fundamental instructors because if you plan to progress...you will see those same instructors in your last semester,so with that said those three instructors that students are unhappy with ...I happen to know that they do care about my learning and want us to progress in this program.

First year students I know that you can get through this andplease try to enjoy Fundamentals because Ms. Kelly is waiting for you in Pharmacology and Med-Surge or Ms Windle in Psych ORyou can have the combo of Pediatrics/CORE with Ms. Augustine/ Maturnity w/ Pharmacology ..so as you can see more is expected of you as you progress, but I know you can do it !!!!! and for those students who didn't make it (1st and 2nd year) come back for your second chance passing it , telling yourself I might fall but I get right back up swinging !!!!!! meaning getting into study groups that actually work and getting help ASAP ...don't wait ,be proactive!
