Forbes Mill Steakhouse

For a special night out at a chic, classy, top-quality steakhouse, it’s hard to beat Danville’s Forbes Mill. Nicely remodeled from a long-standing Tony Roma’s in 2006, the space is stylish and modern, but with none of the isolating coldness this often implies. Forbes feels warm and inviting like a steakhouse should. The meat follows suit: no fussy tampering by an overzealous cook, just traditional cuts of prime certified Angus and all-natural Kobe beef with potato, mushroom, and mixed vegetable sides. Prices range from $21-$68 depending on cut and size, and it’s all excellent, especially when paired with a Western Australian lobster tail (another $28 for 8 ounces or $48 for 12 ounces). Further options include a range of entrées (one is vegetarian) and a few seafood choices, plus soup, salad, and appetizers in the $7-$15 range. A steak dinner here is not cheap, but with the quality of the food and overall experience, you may still feel like you’re getting a bargain.
