By the hordes of teenagers there on Saturday and Sunday mornings, a visit to Millie’s Kitchen does appear to be the best place to wake up slowly. The delicious, enormous omelets and scrambles are hard to beat, and the lunch menu has a good selection as well. Ten-minute wait on the front porch? No problem. Share a big table with a complete stranger? Again, no problem. Along with Bo’s barbecue, Millie’s is Lamorinda’s best reason to wait in line. After twenty years in Lafayette, it has become part of the community. This is strictly breakfast and lunch — oversleep and you will miss your meal, as it closes usually at 2:30 p.m. The atmosphere is super casual and kid-friendly.
