.Best Free Food Spread

Adesso

Back in the day, free happy-hour food meant fried mushrooms, buffalo
wings, and jalapeƱo poppers. Not so at Adesso, the Dopo spin-off
on Piedmont Avenue that honors cured meats. The idea here is akin to an
Italian aperitivo bar, a casual hangout where patrons meet up
with pals for drinks and snacks. So from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and 11 p.m.
to 12 a.m., Adesso puts forth an impressive spread of ever-changing
freebies along the back wall (not too far from the foosball table) to
inhale with cocktails and wine. We’re talking incredible Italian
delights here: olives, panini, piadina, arancini
(fried, stuffed, bite-sized risotto balls), sardine crostini, tuna and
egg crostini, salumi (including mortadella, coppa and salami),
faro and beet salad, rocket salad, Caesar salad, potatoes, breads. Fill
up again and again. The popular buffet brings in crowds, and the noise
volume is high. But, hey, this is free food at its finest, so chill out
and sample to your heart’s delight.
