Wanna-be urban cowboys used to have to mosey all the way down to San Jose to take a ride on the mechanical bull at the venerable Saddle Rack, a legendary country music hot spot. But now bull-riders don’t have to go quite so far with the recent reopening of the Saddle Rack in Fremont’s Warm Springs area. Like the old one in San Jose, the Fremont location is huge — it holds more than nine hundred patrons, with two dance floors and four bars. That means bull-riding novices should get there early when the club opens at 7 p.m. to get in some practice before the big crowd arrives. Cover charge is $5 on Wednesday and Thursday nights and $10 on Friday and Saturday nights. Free line-dance lessons are offered nightly from 7:30 to 9:30, when the live music begins, but there are no lessons offered for the Bull.
