.2:30 p.m. Saturday: Best Place to Catch and Release Crustaceans

Small World Park

Speaking of ticks, and other small things that grab on, you and your kids have to check out Small World Park. It’s got a train, a party castle, and a carousel. But the best activity is to stand on the walking bridge overlooking the pond, and dangle a stick — they provide ’em — in the water until something wriggly, cute, and crustaceous grabs on. Then you yank the mudbug up and drop the crawdad into a bucket with all the other ones you’ve snagged. Unfortunately, there’s no eating your catch, since they have to go back into the water, where they’ll wait for the next kid to catch them. Suckers.
