.Google Exec MIA in Egypt

Wael Ghonim , Google’s head of marketing in the Middle East and North Africa, was reported missing after he participated in the protests against Hosni Mubarak last week. According to a Gawker post this morning, Ghonim was heavily involved in the Egyptian free speech movement. He helped set up proxy servers to evade the country’s Twitter block, and spoke at an Al-Jazeera forum about online journalism. Ghonim has claimed to be an acolyte of Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, and Egyptian opposition leader Mohamed ElBaradei, as indicated on his Facebook page.
