A Fourth Year of Drought?

California water officials are bracing for a possible fourth winter of drought. According to the Chron and the CoCo Times, officials from the state water project are warning customers that they may be restricted to delivering just 5 percent of the water requested this year because of dwindling supplies. That could change, however, if the predictions are wrong and the state enjoys a wet winter. According to the Chron, good news may be coming next week, as meteorologists predict a series of storms will hit the state beginning Sunday or Monday.

The dire warnings from the state water project do not apply to Oakland, Berkeley, Alameda, and much of the East Bay, which are served by East Bay MUD.
