.Berkeley Nobel Winner to Fight Budget Cuts

Oscar Williamson, the UC Berkeley economics professor who just won the Nobel Prize, plans to use his new found influence to lobby against the massive budget cutbacks in the UC system, according to the Bay Area News Group. Williamson said the university system needs to turnaround its finances quickly to maintain quality. “There is real jeopardy, and the longer it goes on, the more we’re at risk,” he said.
