Drought: Half Empty or Half Full?

The Contra Costa Times has a story that says despite all of the recent storms, the Sierra snowpack "remains 20 percent below normal." The San Francisco Chronicle says that thanks to the recent storms, the snowpack is "about 80 percent of normal." Being cynics, we prefer the CC Times version, mostly because it rightly points out that we continue to be below normal for this year, following back-to-back below normal years in 2007 and 2008. In other words, we need to be way above normal this year to make up for the last two.
