Don't Call It a Recession: Poor Kids Get No Health Care

And the tough times just keep getting tougher! The Alameda Alliance for Health, a health plan that offered vision, dental, and medical insurance for as many as one thousand uninsured children in the East Bay, has been forced to shut down. According to the East Bay Business Times, the state budget deficit has forced the county to redirect tobacco settlement money, which once provided half the Alliance's funding. With half their cash gone in an instant, the Alliance couldn't continue operations. So no more free health care, kids. What do you think this is, Sweden?
