Express Goes 18-2 in Election Predictions (not 16-4)

Now that Measure H, the Alameda schools tax measure, appears to have pulled out a come-from-behind victory, the Express' pre-election predictions turned out to be 18-2. Last week, we thought we had gone 16-4. But with the counting of last-minute absentee and provisional ballots, two contests we thought we may have gotten wrong actually turned out just as we predicted — Measure H and the Oakland school board District Seven (East Oakland-Elmhurst) race. Incumbent Alice Spearman has avoided a runoff in her reelection battle with challenger Doris Limbrick. Our endorsement record also improved from 12-8 to 14-6.
