Twice in the last two weeks, the artist collective known as Rock Paper Scissors on Telegraph Ave. was robbed of its computers, scanner, and safe. The all-volunteer-run project is soliciting funds, supplies, and help to get back on its feet at ramp up its security. More details in an e-mail, sent Friday, below:

Dear friends, compadres, volunteers, teachers, artists, and students,
We have sad news to tell you: In the last two weeks RPS has been broken into . . . TWICE! The first break-in was on Christmas. Our alarmed failed us and we lost all of our computers, our scanner, and our beloved accounting information for the past two years! Before we could even fix our door, the same people returned to take our safe....with our new laptop! This time they popped out a window. oh my!
RPSC and members need your love and support now more than ever.
A smile! A high-five! A "hey we like what you're doing!"
Thank you to all who responded to our appeal for donations at the end of the year. It warmed our heart to see so much love. We hope to spend your donations on our fabulous programming, but now we also have to cover our $1,000 deductible.
Donations and support of any kind would be greatly appreciated. If you ever thought about volunteering, now would be a great time to show your love...because we need some love!
And if you happen to have any of the following you'd be willing to donate, here's what we lost:
-our desktop computer
-our laptop
(we are now hoping for PC laptops that we can hide!)
-our scanner
-a cordless phone
-our safe (we are now looking for something called a "jaw box")
also, we need to think of creative ways to protect our windows. any welders out there wanna help?
much love,
your local volunteer-run community arts collective
