"Help" is on the Way For Troubled East Bay Schools

The governor vowed to use the full powers of federal law to assist low-scoring state school districts such as those of Oakland, Berkeley and San Lorenzo in the East Bay. Without providing many details, the Chronicle reported, the administration said it would send state assistance teams to analyze the needs of 98 troubled school districts including those named above.
