James B. Comey, a former deputy attorney general, testified today before a House Judiciary subcommittee about the summary firings of eight US Attorneys. Turns out, Comey had pretty nice things to say about seven of them, according to the Washington Post. Who was the odd one out? Yeah, that would be our guy, San Francisco’s Kevin Ryan, whom he criticized for having management difficulties.
Here’s how Comey characterized some of the others, according to the Post article:
Paul Charlton of Arizona: “one of the best”
John McKay of Seattle: “I was inspired by him.”
Carol Lam of San Diego: “a fine U.S. attorney.”
Daniel Bogden of Las Vegas: “straight as a Nevada highway and a fired-up guy.”
Didn’t anyone tell Comey that if you’re going to bring Valentines, you have to bring them for the whole class?
