The city of Oakland today filed a lawsuit against the Oakland Housing Authority, a state agency, citing unlivable conditions in its 3,300 rental units, the Chronicle reports. "We've been trying for years to work with OHA to get them to provide responsible maintenance, improve the standard of living and make tenants accountable without much luck," said City Council President Ignacio De La Fuente. It is unclear if any city has ever sued its housing authority before today.
